Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

I firmly believe that the service you receive at a restaurant sets the way you feel about a meal, whether the food is amazing or mediocre. Village Tavern has upped their consistency level, but still sometimes struggle getting things totally right. What makes it always an amazing experience are the people who are waiting on me. My love and I always sit at the bar at Village Tavern. The bar area is totally separate from the dining area and has a much more intimate feel. Not only do you get super quick service there, but you get that service done right. Come for brunch and you are likely to run into Tate. He is AMAZING. He checks with the kitchen on food I order when it is specially customized and makes sure I am happy. He remembers our fav drinks and starts making them right away. He is knowledgeable about the entire menu and how things are prepared. He is seriously wonderful asset to the VT team. We love him! Come for dinner on a weeknight and you are likely to be served by Brent at the bar. Funny and a damn good bartender. He is attentive and makes you feel like you should hang around longer to chat with him. He has been at this Village Tavern since the beginning and I love coming here and seeing his smiling face ready to take care of us. The food here is good. Really it is. Sometimes there are hiccups, but with the professionalism of my two favorite employees here anything that may happen is instantly corrected. I have a bajillion checkins here (seriously... it is almost embarrassing), and these two are a huge reason why. Come here, enjoy some good food, and great service at the bar!

This is quickly becoming a repeat restaurant for me and my mate. You're welcomed into a clean, modern casual dining environment. Note: if you're under the age of 60, then you'll be the youngest person in the place. But it's not a spot just for old folks. The service here is top notch, each time servers seemed well versed on the menu and wine options. The food tastes fresh and cooked to order. The free bread is warm and soft. I tend to go for the meatloaf. Note: it's good to ask for a side Ramikan of of extra sauce. Like food? Then you'll love the Village Tavern. (Reservations accepted)

One of their specials was short ribs. It was definitely a $20 waste of money. Yes, the meat falls off the bone, but the meat was very rough. There was barely any taste besides the wine taste. It was a big disappointment. I also ordered the pork belly taco.. well, honestly, I would call it a cole slaw taco. There were only two small Slices of pork bellies in the taco that has a handful of cole slaw. In my opinion, cole slaw should be lightly garnish. I don't mind the two slices, but maybe less cole slaw? I was also surprised to find the tacos a bit on the spicy side. The experience is definitely different from the first time I went.

Large sit-down restaurant in yet another strip-mall / apartment complex. We went late (for Florida / 8:00 PM) and the place was not crowded at all. We still had to wait about 5 minutes for a table even though I saw plenty of empty sections. The menu is very generic offering standard continental cuisine. We had the following: French onion soup, greek salad, fish tacos and prime rib. Everyone enjoyed their respective meals. Service was very good and the price was definitely right. Between all of that and drink I ordered the bill was less than $80.

I highly recommend the Village Tavern. it's a great place to go if you don't necessarily want to deal with the chaos of Boynton. The food is always fantastic. Very reasonably priced. And the drinks are always really good. I would recommend the spin dip to start. And you can't pass up on the mudslides for dessert. Anytime someone wants to try something new I take them here and they love it. They have a beautiful bar inside and they have seating outside. Best of both worlds

Wow, customer service is really slipping. Request made at reservation to accommodate 2 handicapped guests was not honored. Yes, I have been a frequent guest here, but never again. Awful hostess.

  • Stella S.

We only come here for their reasonably priced and well portioned prime rib. At 12oz with 2 sides, the prime rib is a little under $25. Perfectly seasoned and cooked with the au jus that packs so much flavor. Do yourself a favor and order the prime rib!

    (4)
  • Damien T.

This was my first time at Village Tavern and I was really impressed with the food. I had one of the best Prime Rib dinners ever. I am glad we decided to eat here. I was originally planning on going to another restaurant nearby, but the wait was way too long because it was Mothers day. Tavern had no wait so we decided to eat there. If you're looking for a place to eat in the Boynton Beach area I would recommend this place for sure.

Food isn't anything special. If you get a waiter named Tom. Request a different waiter immediately. Because his attitude towards the patrons is disgusting and just rude and no one deserves to be treated in such a way. I would not come back to this establishment because of this experience. Also was charged extra on the bill. Was. It happy with that either

My boyfriend and I used to love coming here for a date night. Quiet, dim-lighting, excellent food. But over the past few years, it's turned into just another place catered for the 65+ community. We haven't gone there in the past 2 years without being the youngest one in the room by at least 30 years. As 20-somethings, we'd rather not have to be wedge in the corner because that's the only place everyone else doesn't want to sit. The food and service is great, but the clientele is depressing. Sadly, we haven't been back in a while.

Good service. Poor food. Had the filet tacos. It was like eating a salt lick on a cold tortilla. John had a burger and the "artisan bun" was right out of a bag of soft store bought buns. Fell apart before he was close to done. Had to use knife and fork. John and I have been here several times over the years. We keep going back hoping they improve. First time was undercooked scallops and mushy crab cakes. We out!

I very much enjoyed my dinner here and our waitress Jennifer was very helpful and prompt. We started with salads. I got the house salad with basil vinaigrette which was really good. The mountain trout with green beans and subbed in sweet potato fries for the rice. Yum. Ask for extra teriyaki glaze on the side. The chocolate torte for dessert was amazing. Not overly too sweet but fudgey and smooth. Can be shared with 2-4 !

Such wonderful service got this restaurant 5 stars by me! We came in late, got seated by a very bubbly pleasant hostess. Tate was our waiter, and he is great! So helpful, friendly, and positive :) food: bruschetta appetizer (yum), grilled tilapia with veggies (liked a lot, would prefer less oil on the veggies), chicken penne with tomato sauce (yum), and then the dessert was deeeeelicious... apple cobbler a la mode. Overall a good meal, made great by the positive vibe from the wonderful staff!

This is a cute little place. I came here to sit at the bar and have a drink and get food to go. The decor is nice and the ambiance is pretty casual. I am not too impressed by their menu to be honest, it's not the best selection for someone who is an extremely healthy and pick eater. I took the greek salad with shrimp to go, it was pretty good, but I've definitely had better, I also had the seared ahi tuna, that was pretty good as well but I've had better. I think this place is good but pretty standard and there really isn't anything special about it.

I was completely astonished by the customer service at this Village Tavern. It really was "As good as it gets." I've been to several locations of this chain restaurant and always enjoyed the food and customer service but this past visit was by far the best recovery of a not so great experience. Throughout all the mess our waitress Tiffany was super friendly and couldn't have been more attentive. We started with the chips and spinach tortilla dip. The chips were very stale so we sent them back. After waiting about 10 minutes we asked about the chips and were told they were all stale and they had to make a new batch which would take a little longer but the manager came over and gave us the option of just canceling it or postponing our dinner entrees and bringing the fresh chips. We postponed dinner and got to enjoy the fabulous dip. Our dinner arrived and our friends steak was under cooked. That had to go back as well. I had the Mussels Cappellini which was amazing and more then enough to share with my friend while he waited for his steak to return. My husband ordered the Cowboy Burger and although it was yummy you could tell they had left it under the heat lamps for too long waiting for our chips to arrive. The bun was a little dry and hard. Steak came back and was now extremely over cooked. With out even asking for her the manager came back over to check on us and could not have been more accommodating. We were tired and just ready to eat what was in front of us but she wanted us each to have a complimentary desert and coffee. I gratefully took mine home to eat in bed :) Moral of the story..... Everyone makes mistakes and you can't get it right every single time but when you have a situation go bad fix it and if you truly care about your business be sincere and don't ever let the customer leave unsatisfied. Did we have the best meal ever... No, but we were treated with kindness and fairness and the manager went above and beyond to make a bad situation better. We all agreed that the service was impressive and that we would be back with out a doubt.

Fish tacos with rice and beans were delicious and my buddy had steak which was okay. They had valet parking which was awesome. The crowd was 60+ not my vibe atm. But it was dinner time so not so surprising for boynton beach. The restaurant had ambience presence and cool vibes. The age gap made me feel as if I was at dinner grandparents if I had American ones. They do have happy hour from 4.30-6.30 five dollar drinks for u drinkers out there. Overall it was a good experience.

My fiancé and I love coming here. We have tried pretty much every single item on the menu and haven't been disappointed. The tacos are by far our favorite items on the menu! Highly recommend coming here on Wine Wednesday's!!!!

I have always enjoyed my meals here. The crab cakes are full of lump crab. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. Wines are half priced on Wednesday. You'll love it.

Good experience at Village Tavern for my birthday! Ordered the scrimp risotto and was impressed. My father ordered the shrimp and grits and I honestly thought it was waaaaay better then what I ordered. Service and great and the waitress was very knowledgable about the menu and had a lot of suggestions. For dessert I had the double layered cheese cake, one word... Wow.

Stopped in for Sunday Brunch with a great group of yelpers! As part of the Brunch special, you can receive a complimentary bloody mary, mimosa, salty dog or glass of champagne with the purchase of any entree. With that said, I chose the mimosa and it was really good. My entree of choice was the Bananas Foster Waffle. The waffle itself was pretty good. I liked the thickness of the waffle but wasn't in love with the bananas as they were in a bit of glaze form atop the waffle. With so many great menu options, I can not wait to come back soon and try some of their other entrees.

A couple of weeks ago my visit missed on a number of key points...my steak wasn't good, there was a long wait despite reservations and it was well below what I had grown accustomed to at Village Tavern. A revisit and some proactive customer service demonstrated for me that my bad experience was an anomaly. As a result I am modifying my rating and upgrading it to four stars.

Wow what can i say. We been many times. The food is always awsome.when we go we always sit out on the patio. Its not as packed as it is inside. The place has great service, witch is a must at the prices they charge. But the food is worth it. We first tryed it cause we got a coupon. After that we have been back many times. We will go many more times in the future.

Eh... This reminds me of a chain restaurant in a way, oh wait it is a chain according to the other 10 locations they posted on their website. We came in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated outside since it was a very pleasant breezy kind of day. Their menu didn't wow me at all. It seemed very bland, predictable, and kind of boring. Still, we gave them a try. I decided to try their blackened tilapia fish tacos (I requested to go easy on the blackening seasoning). It was mediocre and very watery. My husband had the fish and chips (fries). We thought it was good and I enjoyed the fries the most of all. I just don't think we would come back again. We could get better food for the same kind of menu elsewhere.

Am I missing something? This place is not good. My experience was awful here. We paid high prices for Applebee's quality food. Ordered a Captain Diet and got something that was definitely NOT that. I ordered a steak and it was tough and overdone (I ordered it medium). The green beans that came as a side tasted like those frozen microwave in a bag type of things and I'm pretty sure their wine is Franzia. Also, my friend and I were the only patrons in the restaurant under the age of 65 (not really a Friday night hot spot). Overall not impressed and you couldn't pay me to go back.

I had a brunch after my daughters christening last Sunday. From booking, to planning to the final event everything was seamless. Tim the GM was wonderful and all of his staff were a pleasure to deal with. I owned a restaurant for over ten years so needless to say I am picky. I couldn't get over how perfect everything went. The staff, the service, the timeliness of the food and how outstanding it was, unbelievably impressive! Oh, and the price, couldn't be beat! I will definitely go back to the Village Tavern and be sure to share with others what a great choice it would be for their next event!

Our dinner date was perfect last Saturday. We made a reservation and were seated right away during the busy hour of dinner time. Our waitress was great. She informed us of what would go well with our meal and was very attentive in making sure that we had everything we wanted. We got the fried potato chips with a side of ranch dressing for our appetizer, but the spinach dip is a must for our next visit. The filet mignon was absolutely amazing. The tenderness of the butterfly cut couldn't been topped. The loaded baked potato and the macaroni and cheese was the perfect sides to go with this delightful entree. I'm not saying that anybody can top my beloved grandma's mac n' cheese, but Village Tavern has a gooey out of this world kind of one. My date loved his cowboy chicken topped with smoked bacon, barbeque sauce, and cheeses with a side of black beans and rice. We had plenty of leftovers to bring home, but we ended up leaving them in the car overnight and had to throw them out due to our forgetfulness. They have a variety of different types of food and offers a gluten free menu as well. The outside and inside bars are huge and the drink menu looks delicious. We didn't make it in time for happy hour, but we'll keep it in mind for next time. I highly recommend trying this place if you are in the Boynton Beach area. Both of our visits have been outstandingly delicious.

Have never had a bad meal here. Out with "the girls" the other night, a friend mentioned that her salad was just so-so. In the blink of an eye, it was removed from her check--certainly not the reason she mentioned it. Everything else she and the remaining three of us had was excellent. Something for everyone--vegetarian to carnivores. Friendly and efficient staff, comfortable surroundings. I give it five stars in terms of overall satisfaction.

Visited VT with friends the other day. We all had a very good meal. Service was awesome! One of us had the braised Short Ribs and he said it was the best he had every had. The other Chicken Marsala and he really like it as well. I had the Grilled Meatloaf which was really good and I'm picky about my meatloaf. Could if used a little more gravy but it was good. Will def order again. House Merlot was good as always

Read some reviews and decided to check this place. I do not know how I have survived not having tried this place sooner! After reading our good the bacon wrapped scallops were, I had to try them. OMG! These are amazing! I was curious for $12.95 how many you would get. These were three large, and I mean LARGE, scallops. The bacon was crispy and whatever the sauce was, it was perfect! This is definitely worth a try. I also had the wedge salad. It's just your typical wedge, so it was very good. The lettuce was fresh, the blue cheese dressing was nice and chunky, the bacon crispy, etc. They had a large menu selection and the prices varied. So if you are looking for something inexpensive or something large and fancy, they have options for both. They also had a wide variety from poultry, to steak to seafood entrees, to burger, flat breads, salad, sandwiches, etc. They also have a nice wine selection at prices starting at only $6 per glass. I can't wait to go back and try some more items!

This is nice location. When you walk in, either you can go left to the bar or right for seating. They offer brunch, lunch and dinner. As a vegetarian, there are a lot of options. The menu even points out what are the safe bets. The margherita pizza is awesome. I don't want to sound like a pig, but I ate the whole pizza by myself. They have a veggie burger which is amazing too. Then there are a few salads for the "watching my weight" people. The appetizers are good, but I wouldn't say amazing. I liked the entrees here better than anything else. As for the bar, they serve Absinthe. I haven't ordered it yet. Since I heard it taste like black licorice, which I am not a fan of. I'll end up ordering it eventually I am sure.

This was my first visit and I was impressed. The restaurant was very busy however we had a reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. Our server promptly brought menus and took drink orders. She told us how we could easily let her know when we were ready to order and it worked. The food came nicely cooked and warm. I had a vegetarian spaghetti squash dish which was tasty and filling. Others had the hanger steak and scallop special and they were very pleased. The cost was reasonable and we will be back again.

I threw a party here and my guest and I had a blast! The waitress was very nice as well. The spinach tortilla dip was creamy and delicious. The calamari was ok, but it was a bit soggy. I got the chicken marsala and the green beans were a little undone. The only con side about the party was that the service was ridiculously slow. It took an hour just for our appetizers to arrive. We were the youngest people there as most of the ambience there were senior citizens. However, everyone had a memorable time and enjoyed their dinner.

Went there on many recommendations. Our server John, was a boob. He was very condescending. I ordered a specific glass of wine and when the bill came it was a different name on the bill. When I asked him about it, he said they were out of that so he gave me a different wine. Didn't ask me , didn't let me know or choose another , he chose for me! Never had a waiter do that before. The short ribs were very salty and the shrimp on the shrimp risotto were dry. Bread was lame. Not the best experience. Won't be back:(

Sat in bar area on Saturday night. A nice place. Crowded and good energy. Food and drinks came quickly. Very good live music on the patio. Food was very good. We ordered a cheeseburger and a turkey burger. Only complaint is the wait staff was scarce and not very attentive. Will come back but likely make a reservation and sit in the main dining room.

I ordered the grilled chicken sand with applewood bacon with sweet potato fries. The fries are the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. The sandwich was great as well. The wheat bun is slightly sweet maybe a honey wheat but it has sunflower seeds in it so beware if you need to be careful with seeds. I saw a waiter carrying 6 dishes to a table. I was impressed since the dishes are very heavy to carry 6 at a table was impressive. Great service only 10min wait with a reservation at 7pm on Thursday night. Could have been a better price.

This is a very poor review of a deserving bad restaurant. What I want to know is why this restaurant was packed on a Friday night and why we had to get a reservation to eat here? This is not the kind of restaurant that should have such a loyal patronage even if it is "in season". Here's the gist as most concise as I can be. Service at the Village Tavern was unbelievably slow. Dinner took 2 hours! We were constantly looking around for our server and she was no where to be seen. The people working the kitchen are bumbling idiots. They actually forgot to cook my dinner yet still served everyone else in my party. So after waiting at least a half an hour for my food I end up waiting 15 more minutes while everyone else at my table is eating. When they finally brought out my filet mignon it had been butterflied open to be as thin as a regular steak! And they also seriously overcooked my fiance's steak to well instead of rare. When I finally got my food it was mediocre. The best thing I think I had was the garden salad which was large and very fresh. When we brought our issues to our server's attention two managers came by and profusely apologized. They comped the two meals as well as our desserts. Now while I appreciate the concern and the gesture I still would not return.

I've been here a few times recently and enjoyed each vist. The food is consistently good, prices are fair, portions are decent, and the staff is friendly, efficient, and accommodating. For its price range, this place has got its act together.

Always suspect when going to a chain that lists the many locations and states where they are based. While the place was attractive and in a very nice center, bum experience began at the valet parking. Guys doing parking were slow and zero personality. Hostess was busy with her iPhone but we broke thru to get our table. In all fairness it was a busy night and they were offering a fantastic wine by the glass special, but perhaps the slowest service ever. Sever had no clue how to get our wine ready, get us glasses and a chiller. We went to the bar and got our own glasses and we had a corkscrew with us, so opened our BYO on our own. Food came promptly and was good, not super, but good.....once we got napkins and utensils! Too many other spots in town that offer better food and service.

First visit and I have to say awesome!!!! Our server was Lu and she did an excellent job service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry and I wouldn't imagine you would want to come here with out some time to enjoy the food. Any one who follows me knows I am gluten intolerant and I have to say the menu choices were great. My wife and I shared two gluten free entrées the pork chops and the chicken and penne pasta both were great. I also had the spinach appetizer salad which was amazingly good I would go back just for that alone. At one point the waitress accidentally spilled my water on my dish and she took it and I was brought a new full dish immediately. Great service great food defiantly will be back.

Came here with 12 guys. Had a foursquare free chips and was told no more chips ran out. One person ordered fish and chips and was told only 2 orders left. Someone is not ordering right. Will think twice before going back with group or wife I am writing an addendum to this post, I spoke to the management today and they could not stop apologizing for their dropping the ball last night. To me this is the best customer service. As I had mentioned have been here before and will now come back again after how much they have shown the customer service is number 1 at Village tavern.

Wed is half-priced nite (wine & beer) which makes it a great value. Some of the best steaks (filet mignon) for the money. Live music on wed. as well. Sit at the bar or in the bar area.Great service with attentive bartenders and managers.Like the nametags on staff.Inside & outside seating.

Very disappointed with my recent visits to Village Tavern. My friend and I have been eating there once a week for the last two months and stopped because the chicken tacos kept coming to the table burnt and the service is TERRIBLY slow. The last visit was over the top! The waitress "disappeared" and left us sitting at the table for 1/2 waiting for our check. Then she walks right past us, and goes to a table of about 20 people and proceeds to take their order. Had to get the manager to get our check and to cash out. Manager offered a free appetizer on our next visit. We said, "Keep your appetizer we won't be coming back". She should have comped the entire meal. Bad food, bad service, you won't be seeing us at Village Tavern any time soon.

After vowing to not come here again I did anyway cause we could not all decide on a place to go... And to my surprise we had an enjoyable time.. The Service was good except for once again the Hostess's and always having to wait 5-10 min even with reservations... Besides that our waitress was great the food was good and it was a nice time and of course they had my skinny girl mojitos which I love.. Everyone liked there meals we had the thai chicken skewers and they were yummy and I had the whole wheat flatbread.. I still have faith in this place that it could turn into a solid 4 I think if all the cotton heads weren't always invading it they would be at a 4 by now.. Right now Id say they are at 3 and 1/2 stars but for having such a good time this weekend I will round up to 4... Keep it up Village Tavern..

My girlfriends and I went here for dinner one night while one of them were down visiting. the food was AMAZING! SOOO GOOD! Nice portions and the meals came out in a timely manner. HOWEVER, our Server had a bit of an attitude, chip on his shoulder. If you are anything like me and your big on customer service this server would have pissed you off also. He would walk away from us before we were done speaking. He wouldn't look at us while we spoke. Took a while to bring our drinks and had absolutely NO SENSE OF HUMOR! My girls and I are between the ages of 26-31 and we are very outgoing and friendly, so for us to be treated like punk teens really didn' t set well. Hopefully they have shaped but... I will give them another shot!

Went for dinner last night. We go occasionally because it's close, rather upscale, and has a varied menu. I started with a Caesar salad. There was no dressing on the salad. It had two croutons, some cheese, and some romaine lettuce. The waitress happily brought me dressing. For our main course, I had the braised short ribs, which were good. My partner ordered what was described as a coconut shrimp risotto with tuna. What came out was risotto with tuna on top. The waitress was apparently confused about the description of the dish. Our friend ordered the fish tacos. I can't tell you how they were because he was served chicken tacos (he said those were good). Dessert. They were out of the chocolate cake! Doh! I noticed the managers visiting tables and apologizing a lot. I think this place is great for drinks and appetizers, but it'll be awhile before we try dinner again.

Took a friend of mine and his girlfriend there for dinner. Had the filet marsala and it was exceptionally good. In fact, everyone enjoyed their dinner. I had no idea that this was a chain restaurant. I'd go back again.

This is a great place for brunch or a business lunch. It's a very large restaurant. Service is good and the food is tasty. The Thai chicken salad is especially yummy, and breakfast portions are generous and very good. A reliable spot.

Meh. This may seem small to you but my husband happens to love dirty martini's with blue cheese olives, which they have on the menu. We actually go to restaurants that have this drink on the menu for a reason. My husband's drink came back with regular olives. Apparently, no blue cheese olives. Well they had plenty of blue cheese; saw it on several salads...most places stuff them anyway so...I'm going to go with the bar is a little lazy. My husband's hamburger was mediocre, but my chicken and penne dish was pretty tasty. I may give them another chance, if I have a Groupon or something.

I have to say, that my wife and I go and sit at the Bar for dinner and drinks. We always have good service, good atmosphere, and good food, We have taken friends here as well. If you go sit outside or in the bar as they have music on the weekends. You will not be disappointed.

I came back for brunch today and it seems my luck has changed. I had a delicious meal with great service. It was not as busy as a Saturday night which was nice. We were able to choose our on seats outside. The weather was once again perfect for eating outside. We started our meal with the fresh potato chips and they are so amazing! Much better than the sweet potato fries. I am definitely coming back for the chips. I had the crab cake Benedict and nearly fell over, it was so amazing. It truly made up for the bad meal I had last Saturday. All in all, a way better experience than my first. I will definitely be back for Sunday Brunch.

This review gets 5 stars for their Happy Hour and the bartender, Greg!... Stopped by with my cousin for what was supposed to be just one drink... ha, one drink, yeah right! We had a coupon to use so that was an added bonus. Happy Hour in Florida is sure better than Happy Hour in Cali! Even for a weekend! $3 glasses of Pinot Grigio and $5 kettle one vodka martinis!? Yes, please!... We started getting hungry so we ordered the bruschetta appetizer-- but we didn't want all that bread that comes with it; Greg suggested we sub out the bread for their thin flat bread- so we did and it was deelish! The flat bread had almost a sweet taste to it and it was wheat-based so that was even better. Greg was super attentive to our needs including storing something that we had in the car (which was perishable) in the back fridge so it wouldn't spoil while we sipped our cocktails and nibbled on our appetizers. He even let us charge our phones back behind the bar top area! If I lived out by this place, I would be a regular for their Happy Hour. Nice atmosphere too; I will say I was probably one of the "younger" patrons though... ha!

I would definitely return. We ate at the bar and we're lucky enough to get Nicole. This is ideal if you don't want to wait for a table or want to watch a game on TV. We opted for the little bites which were more than enough for us. The chicken Quesadilla was flavorful and came with two sauces. My favorite was the shaved prime rib sliders. Cooked just right with a good grilled flavor. There's a dipping sauce but you don't need it. We got the small plate that had two on it but they have an appetizer that has 3. Finally the onion rings! You get a stack of about 8 or 9 and they are excellent.

Nice bar area inside. Cozy and quaint excellent for after work drinks with friends. The patio area serves its purpose and doesn't feel crowded. Nice place and the food tastes authentic. Not like the cookie cutter stuff that south Florida is known for. Do yourselves a favor while you're here and order desert. Amazing!

Friends introduced me to Village Tavern for dinner last Tuesday evening (3//27/2012) and I enjoyed everything immensely. This place is so good I went back with family on Friday, March 30! Can't say enough about this restaurant. Excellent food from a wide-ranging menu, excellent service and wonderful ambiance, from the patio to the bar to the dining room. Five stars.

I actually just ate here with a friend. It was located in a pretty new and nice plaza with alot of action going on for Boynton. The overall decor was ok. Dark and simple. The layout of the bar and outdoor seating was nice and a good size. The main dining room was large and open. We were seated within 5 minutes upon arriving. There was a bit of an older crowd. (avg age was 50-60). We ordered the Ahi Tuna, Crab Dip, and Spinach salad. The Ahi Tuna was delicious and I loved the dressing that was drizzled on top. The crab dip was ok but not something I would order again... a bit too cheezy with all of that soft crab. I loved the poppyseed dressing that came with the salad. It was pretty reasonably priced. 2 glasses of wine and the 3 appetizers and dessert came to only $57. The service, first initial O, far exceeded my expectations. Our server was very friendly and informative about the menu.

Walked over here recently for dinner, which is awesome itself. We've been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally got to. It was magnificent. They have so many different types of healthy options, and fresh ingredients. We got them to sub in chicken for pork in their Pulled Pork Bbq Quesadillas, and I loved it. Their Chicken Marsala was very good. They also have pasta with this unique basil cream sauce my colleague went nuts over. Our waiter kept coming at the exact right times, and everything went perfectly! I can't wait to go back and try more stuff.

I'm surprised by the so-so reviews. My grandfather and his wife brought my husband and me here for lunch. It was pretty empty at lunchtime and the waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Apparently, my husband's Chicken Colorado fell on the kitchen floor so his food arrived after ours, but the waitress was very apologetic and took it off the tab. When my husband's dish arrived, he devoured it atop its black beans and rice that I ate. The veggie burger was one of the better ones I have ever tasted -- a tasty patty of brown rice, oats, beans, veggies coated with a delicious of barbecue sauce/molasses glaze--very similar to the one they serve at Houston's. I say this place rivals Houston's and I'd definitely go back when visiting the fam in Florida!

Have been here many times and enjoyed the food although the service can be slow at times. However, having seen a write up in the local paper on the brunches on Sunday we decided to try it. The brunch selection was exceptional and very tasty, the service was lacking. We ordered Bloody Mary's and waited 20 minutes before they arrived and without celery stick, the food arrived 20 minutes later, the waitress came over once, we wanted coffee, waited another 15 minutes for it to arrive and then waited another 15 minutes for the check. No manager around to supervise a the staff which was gabbing away at the service station rather than attending to the customers. All of this took place between 12 noon and 1:30 PM while the place was virtually empty. Will go back because I like the food and maybe I'll get luckier with the service . Would suggest closer supervision of the service staff by management. Just a brief follow up to let everyone know that this is a restaurant that is serious about customer relations, Tim Allen, the manager, called me back the following day to thank me for my comments and to invite me back for a brunch with the promise to do better. That kind of response is what solidifies customer relations. Thank you Tim, I will be back.

It was a nice spot. We did team dinner there after LAX Tourney. The food was pretty good, even had some options for those of us watching our waste line that looked pretty good. They were not well equipped to handle a large group, 20+.

One of my worst dining experiences in a long time and couldn't have come on a worse night as chose this place for a special occasion. Seating was prompt as we had a reservation and our server was quick to respond to our being seated. That's where the trouble started. Ordered a bottle of wine and it came back a different year then on their menu. I sent it back and our server was told by the manager that the year doesn't make a difference - Hmm - so I ordered another bottle of wine - same thing - wrong year. Mgr finally comes over and acknowledges they need to change their menu. Hands me her clipboard with years crossed out so I could order one "more to my liking". Apps came out and homemade potato chips were the best offering of the night - albeit very salty. Caprese salad was unriped tomatoes with the hard cores still in, mussels were tasteless pieces of rubber. Server came by twice to ask the temperature I wanted my meat and I was still served a very rare slice of meat - at this point I just ate it as didn't chance sending anything back. Other entree was equally disappointing. No offer for the wine mix up - no offering for the special occasion - and bascially a basic offering which was sub par all around. Won't do this one again.

Average, standard. Salads are good, lunch is good, steaks are average. Service is good. Menu descriptions are often times much more appealing than the dish. decent variety though. they really need to put a small window type barrier at the kitchen as the noise and smell overwhelms the restaurant at times especially if in the 2 rows near it. They also should but hose small barriers inbetween the aisles on the booths to minimize noise. It has a nice tavern darker vibe, but it is then like you are herded in with the layout with no real sound barriers. It is a solid bet to not be disappointed but not be over joyous to go back either with say Bonefish right around the corner. Food could step it up a notch especially in the consistency of what you get, and there needs to be something done about the noise level. Solid B-.

After 8 visits I can say I wouldn't return. The food is decent enuf but nothing amazing. Service however is terrible, every time there's been a problem. Wrong food, charged for items we didn't order. Always something to make me unhappy with the experience. If they could fix the server issue it wouldn't be so bad. I'll stick with bonefish around the corner

Food was OK, nothing great. The snowbirds like this place so they are there in full attendance. Decor was dark and nothing special. Service was really good though and very attentive. However the food was not good enough to go back. There are better places in the area to dine.

The Village Tavern is consistantly good food and service. Just about all meals under $20 and really good salads. I've been several times and always enjoyed my meal. I went with a group of 18 one time and they handled the table very well (not an easy task). Nice outdoor seating area too. I would like to see some additional (now just 2 I think) craft beers available, but otherwise, no complaints.

'Upscale' bar food. I was actually surprised by how good their Filet Oscar is. A few items are winners, a few losers (Po Boy) - the rest are decent. The layout kinda sucks since the bar is completely separated from the dining area. Speaking of the dining area, did they model it after a Denny's? Not intimate or cozy at all. You're better off sitting in the bar area. The outside area is a nice option too. The majority of the clients are bluehairs so keep this in mind. Service is meh. Prices are decent. I agree with the other reviewer about the hours. I'm actually not even sure what they are since they have been different every time I've been there (15+ times). Pick hours and stick to them.

This place has lame hours. We wandered over there at 11pm on St. Patrick's Day, sat down at the bar, and were told they were closed. 11pm on St. Patrick's Day? Are you kidding me? Lame!
